Elevating Belonging in Independent Schools: From Concept and Aspiration to Strategy; Keynote Speaker: Crissy Cáceres, Head of Brooklyn Friends School

Within this conversation, belonging will be redefined as not merely a sentiment or hope but as a meticulously crafted strategy that, when designed with skill and care, can reverberate through the entire human ecosystem of independent schools. It unveils how, when envisioned through the lens of strategy, belonging becomes a dynamic force that shapes policies, pedagogies, and practices, creating an environment in which every child and adult thrives. Crissy will guide us through an introspective exploration of how a strategic approach to belonging fosters a comprehensive resonance, affecting students, educators, families, and the wider community, as well as shaping the systems within our schools.

This conversation will center the critical necessity of contemporary educational landscapes where the strategic cultivation of belonging is ever-present, empowering students to flourish, compelling educators to innovate, and resulting in a positive social impact within and beyond classrooms. The core focus will be to transcend rhetoric and catalyze action and an uncompromising commitment to treating belonging as the cornerstone strategy towards genuinely vibrant and flourishing human-centric independent schools.
